Dublin commuters lose 10 stations during Dart Service Suspension for line works

Travelers on the coastal rail corridor through central and south Dublin will lose access at 10 stops for three days, as a dart service suspension from Saturday, April 4 through Monday, April 6, 2026 ET, shutters stations between Dublin Connolly and Dun Laoghaire; riders can use TFI Leap cards on other public transport nearby.

Tara Street, Pearse, Grand Canal Dock among 10 closed stops

Ten DART stations will be closed for the full three-day window, affecting Tara Street, Dublin Pearse, Grand Canal Dock, Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, and Salthill and Monkstown.

The closures remove direct DART access at these stops from Saturday, April 4 through Monday, April 6, 2026 ET, interrupting regular stopping patterns along the city center and southside section of the line.

Engineering works between Dublin Connolly and Dun Laoghaire

Irish Rail said the station shutdowns are required to facilitate engineering works along the corridor between Dublin Connolly and Dun Laoghaire across April 4–6, 2026 ET.

The company is undertaking a range of projects and essential maintenance across its network, noting that while most work happens overnight, this effort necessitates daytime closures over the specified three days.

Dart Service Suspension: Alternatives with TFI Leap cards

During the dart service suspension, TFI Leap cards can be used on all TFI public transport services in the affected area, offering fare flexibility for passengers while DART stops between Dublin Connolly and Dun Laoghaire are shut.

If the engineering works finish on schedule by Monday, April 6, 2026 ET, the closures are expected to lift and regular DART stopping patterns to resume on the Dublin Connolly–Dun Laoghaire section.
