Rihanna’s Beverly Hills Home Struck by Gunfire, Suspect in Custody

Rihanna and people inside her Beverly Hills residence were put at risk when a round pierced a wall but no one was injured. Sunday at 4: 21 p. m. ET, law enforcement responded to gunfire at the property and a woman was taken into custody.

Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived after calls about gunfire at 1: 21 p. m. local time, which is 4: 21 p. m. ET. A woman in her 30s was located and detained; investigators later found the suspect’s vehicle roughly eight miles from the scene and took her into custody.

Police radio traffic cited by the Los Angeles Times indicated approximately 10 shots were fired from a vehicle across the street from the property’s gate. Yet a separate account noted seven shots were fired before the suspect drove away. Still, investigators recovered casings at the scene consistent with an assault rifle, law enforcement.
That said, news outlets also noted that officers found the suspect’s vehicle about eight miles from the home and that the woman was detained there. For now, the precise motive and the sequence of events inside the vehicle remain subjects of the ongoing investigation.
Los Angeles police and a representative for Rihanna did not immediately respond to requests for comment, the initial accounts said.
