A production source set the record straight to TMZ, saying Sweeney was missing from the shoot because she was filming a scene at that time and the footage in the teaser captured only certain moments. The production source stated the BTS shots were not promotional photos but behind-the-scenes material collected during production.

Fans noticed Sweeney’s omission from the group shot and flagged it on social platforms, with comments noting the absence. Earlier reporting had suggested a feud between Sweeney and Zendaya tied to differing political views; that reporting also claimed the two declined to do press or stand next to each other at events. Sweeney has addressed politically charged labels applied to her, telling Cosmopolitan she does not want to be at the forefront of political conversations and saying she isn’t a hateful person. She added that there is “no winning” when responding to politically charged claims and that she will continue being who she is.
