Liv Golf Leaderboard: Round 3 Standings
Niemann fired a battling third-round 66, making seven birdies and two bogeys to surge into a share of the lead. Westwood, the 52-year-old English veteran, closed with birdies on three of the final four holes to card a 68 and join Niemann at the top. DeChambeau followed his second-round 65 with a one-over 72, while Richard Lee birdied the final hole to post a 69 and move level with DeChambeau.
Spain’s Jon Rahm shot an even-par 71 and remained within striking distance, three strokes off the pace. Australia’s Marc Leishman shot 71 to sit alone in sixth at six-under, and compatriot Cameron Smith produced a battling 69 to be tied for 16th at three-under.
What Changed In Round 3
The Sentosa course proved tougher in round three than in the opening two rounds. Westwood described it as “a major championship-style” test that requires hitting a lot of fairways and penalizes errant shots from the rough; he finished with momentum from his late birdies. Niemann said he has been hitting the ball well and called the course “stressful, ” noting the danger off the tee and water on second shots but adding that his ball has been going where he sees it.
DeChambeau experienced trouble on holes 8, 10 and 12, making bogeys there and three-putting in that stretch after the greens slowed. Despite that, he said he played well overall and that small factors kept some momentum from building.
Team Picture And Stakes Heading Into The Weekend
In the team competition, 4Aces sit atop the standings at 16-under after Dustin Johnson shot a 68 that helped push the team two shots clear of Ripper GC and Legion XIII. Johnson’s round also left him in a tie for seventh individually at 5-under with six other players. Niemann is bidding to become just the second player to successfully defend a LIV title, following Brooks Koepka in Jeddah, setting up a tense finish as the tournament moves toward the weekend.
The liv golf leaderboard will be decisive over the final round as leaders and chasers prepare for what the course may demand next.
