Ffxiv Beastmaster Previewed As Part Of 7.5 Patch Series; Part 1 Arrives April 28

The Ffxiv Beastmaster was showcased during the 7. 5 Letter from the Producer Live presentation, with the limited job confirmed as part of the broader 7. 5 patch series. The Live Letter revealed core mechanics, unlock conditions, and that the job will arrive sometime within the 7. 5 cycle, which begins on April 28, 2026.
Ffxiv Beastmaster: What the Live Letter Revealed
The Beastmaster will launch as a limited class that begins at level 1 but requires players to be at least level 50 and to have completed the main scenario in A Realm Reborn to unlock it. The job’s combat loop centers on weakening monsters to capture them; successfully captured beasts can be summoned for assistance, with the player able to call on up to three companion creatures in battle and while traveling together.
The Beastmaster’s bestiary will include 50 monsters at the outset, and the job’s initial level cap is 50. The producer also teased a single-player mode for nurturing companions called Crucible of the Unbroken, though the presentation did not offer additional details about how that mode will function or when it will become available.
Developers cautioned that the team has not specified which specific 7. 5 patch will add the limited job, only that it will appear sometime during the 7. 5 series. Resource demands for adding the Beastmaster were cited as a reason the next Blue Mage update will be postponed to a later date.
7. 5 Patch Schedule and Release Windows
Part 1 of the 7. 5 patch series is set to arrive on April 28, 2026. The update cycle will span through September, with the second part slated for early September 2026. The Live Letter noted there will be a significant gap between the two parts and that follow-up Letter from the Producer Live presentations will share further details and timing for additional features.
The rollout approach means some additions announced during the broadcast may appear at launch with Part 1 or may be added in subsequent sub-patches within the 7. 5 window; the team did not publish a full roadmap linking each feature to a specific sub-patch during the presentation.
Quality-Of-Life Overhauls Announced in 7. 5
The 7. 5 series also includes several inventory and housing improvements intended to streamline item management and reduce retainers’ burdens. The dye system will be consolidated: instead of every color occupying its own inventory slot, dyes will be grouped into three main categories. Using a dye from one of those categories prompts a selection of the desired color, and players can exchange legacy dyes in their inventory for the new grouped dyes at any Calamity salvager.
Players will gain the ability to store Artifact and dungeon gear in their armoire. Initially, this storage will be limited to dungeon gear obtained in Dawntrail dungeons, with plans to gradually expand armoire support to dungeon gear from earlier expansions over time. Householders will be able to place more indoor and outdoor items thanks to increased item caps and can choose whether the game prioritizes displaying their own items or nearby players’ items to help performance. The presentation noted these changes should free up retainer space and simplify long-term gear and vanity collection management.
Additional features and specific deployment timing were promised for later Live Letter presentations and an upcoming fan event on April 24 and 25 in Anaheim, where more details will be shared ahead of the continued 7. 5 rollout.
