Rick Harrison Says He Paid Corey Harrison Medical Bills, Sparking Fundraiser Dispute

Rick Harrison says he paid all of Corey’s medical bills and disputes that his son needed a GoFundMe to cover treatment costs. The split in accounts became public when both men gave competing statements on March 6, 2026, making that date the immediate trigger for renewed scrutiny of the fundraiser and family finances.
Rick Harrison Statement
Rick Harrison said, “As far as I know, I paid all of Corey’s medical bills long before he put the GoFundMe out. ” He added that Corey “is a grown man in his 40’s and is responsible for how he handles his finances, ” and that there is “no repayment schedule in place” for any money he provided.
Corey Harrison Fundraiser Details
A GoFundMe launched by a friend seeks support for medical bills and related expenses tied to Corey’s accident and recovery. The campaign description claimed more than $100, 000 in medical costs and listed needs that include rent, medication and ongoing care, and it had raised $9, 605 toward an $18, 000 goal as of 4: 00 pm ET Saturday, March 7.
Medical Circumstances in Mexico
Corey was injured in a January motorcycle crash that led to multiple surgeries and extended hospital stays in Mexico. Surgeons drained nearly three liters of blood from his chest cavity, he checked out of an initial beach hospital because bills were climbing, and later experienced dangerously low oxygen that required a house doctor to administer IV fluids and morphine.
March 6, 2026 Dispute
Both men offered differing accounts when they spoke on March 6, 2026. Corey said his father covered “at least half” of a six-figure hospital bill and that he considered that payment a loan he planned to repay. He also said he drained his savings during treatment and now has just $400 left. Rick, by contrast, characterized the payments as settled and not debt.
Corey framed the difference in terms of their personal and business relationship, saying, “If he decided I don’t have to pay him back the money, then happy birthday to me. But based on our personal and business relationship, I don’t see how that’s possible. I love my father very much. ” Rick’s statement focused on adult responsibility and the accounting of the bills.
The GoFundMe description noted additional pressures beyond direct hospital invoices, including lost income while hospitalized and a prolonged inability to work, which the fundraiser says are not addressed by a hospital bill settlement.
The series that made the family public figures is set to return in 2027 without Corey, a confirmed upcoming milestone tied to the family’s public profile and the timing of renewed attention to these financial disputes.
